Labour Department

Labour Department is the custodian of guaranteed rights of workers as envisaged in our national provincial legal frameworks and ILO conventions. Industrial Relations or the subject of Labour constitutes the social component (among others) of a sustainable development policy. The other two being economic and environmental. Industrial relations transcend all sector of an economy be it primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary. In an era of internationalization, globalization and corporate restructuring where businesses and the world of work have assumed different patterns, the task of the Labour Department has become all the more important and challenging to ensure rights of workers at workplace and productivity of labour markets.
